Ginger – Variegated (Costus arabicus)
Variegated Ginger, native to tropical Asia, is an upright evergreen tropical perennial which can grow up to 10 feet tall and 4 feet wide. It has beautiful striped green and yellow foliage and may bear shell-shaped flowers. Although this is not the spice ginger, the underground stems can be used as a spice ginger substitute. The plant can handle some morning sun but prefers shade during hot afternoons.
