Jatropha (Jatropha integerrima)
This shrub, which is native to the West Indies and especially well known from Cuba, is a tropical evergreen with glossy leaves and gorgeous clusters of star-like bright red flowers which bloom year-round. It can grow in a rounded domed shape up to 15 feet tall and 10 feet wide but it can also be pruned as a smaller hedge. The plant is tolerant of different soils and does well in full sun to partial shade. It is also drought tolerant. The plant is also known as the Buddha Belly Plant or Bottleplant Shrub.
