Jacaranda (Jacaranda acutifolia)

The Jacaranda is a beautiful dramatic tree that is awe-inspiring in any landscape. The trumpet-shaped flowers provide a violet, blue, or purple explosion of color from April to June. It is a deciduous tree with an irregular growing branches and can reach heights of 50 feet with a spread of 25 feet. Although there are a variety of species, the one most seen in Florida is native to the Amazon River Basin. While this tree is not tolerant of sat, it is tolerant of most soil types and prefers bright sun to light shade.
